Langstrothdale is one of the smaller valleys in the Dales and has three hamlets Beckermonds, Yockentwaite and Hubberholme. The views down this Valley are breathe taking. The river Wharfe runs for some 15 miles through the dale, and through the village of Oughtershaw where the outdoor centre offers one a great base to start your outdoor pursuits.
From here you can climb, canoe, mountain bike or go on an organised walk. Langstroth also offers the underground sport of potholing and caving with the Stans Gill Pot Hole, which comes with a severe category warning. The small hamlet of Yockenthwaite has a wonderful family walk called the Cray Wildlife Walk; it is also home to an ancient stone circle.
