Hawes National Park Centre is housed in the Dales Countryside Museum. There is a large car park and coaches are welcome, additionally there is a small picnic area and toilets. There is also a fascinating Dales Countryside Museum where you can learn about life of the local people and area.
Also within the visitor centre is the aptly named Firebox Cafe, with a selection of quality light refreshments made where possible from locally sourced supplies based in the Yorkshire Dales area. In addition the cafe is an integrated part of Stage 1 Cycles, who hire, repair and provide routes for cycling all over the Yorkshire Dales.
There is a fantastic added attraction that car park is also a designated Dark Sky Discovery site, so a great place to experience the dark skies and fantastic stars above.
Although not the most easiest of places to get to Hawes can still be reached by bus from Leyburn, or a shuttle bus from the station at Garsdale can be booked. Please see http://www.dalesbus.org/ for local times.

1 February to 31 October we are open daily from 10am to 5pm
1 November to 31 December we are open daily from 10am to 4:30pm (closed Christmas Eve to Boxing Day)
