Wensleydale, as well as the neighbouring dales of Swaledale, Cotterdale, Dentdale, Garsdale, Wharfedale, and Chapel-le-Dale, are easily accessable from Hawes and have some of the best walking routes in the Yorkshire Dales Traditional shops, cafés, and bars today serve both locals and the wider range of tourists. The busy National Park Visitors Center and Dales Countryside Museum are located in the former station yard.
