The Board Inn is a traditional, family-owned pub located in the middle of Hawes, a market town in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. There is something for you to explore here, whether you’re coming to test your limits with outdoor sports, take in the local culture, or just unwind and enjoy a change of pace.

While you unwind and explore the neighbourhood, they provide a laid-back service that will make you feel like a member of the family. Don’t worry; we recognise that many families also include pets. In the bar area and part of the bedrooms, we welcome well-behaved pets.

Food and Drink

While you’re there, take some time to savour one of our Cask Marque ales or a freshly prepared meal made with the finest Wensleydale ingredients.

The Board Inn is known for its delicious, hearty home-cooked pub fare. Customers particularly adore their build-your-own “Board Burger” menu and the Steak and Black Sheep Ale Pie. If we have it, you can have it, can be used to customise the regular menu to suit the majority of tastes.

They claim that all of their suppliers are neighbourhood businesses that they know by first names. Drop in and introduce yourself because you can frequently spot them on the opposite side of the bar, sipping on our cask ale selection and exchanging witty banter. Our food is provided by the local supermarket The Good Life for our vegetables, the family butcher JW Cockett & Son for our meat, and JR Iveson for our furniture and electrical goods. These are located in the town, and they will be pleased to direct you to them if you wish to take anything you really liked home.
