Moya Brennan

March 20 @ 8:00 pm - 10:30 pm

Moya Brennan’s vocal prowess serves as a perpetual testament to the profound impact that music, in its unadulterated form, can have on one’s emotions. Despite the imposed limitations on her and other artists in recent years, she has remained active, particularly with Clannad’s Farewell Tour. Their highly successful concert at Dublin’s 3 Arena in February (’23) marked a poignant moment in the culmination of their final tour, following their 50-year-long partnership. Moya is currently enthusiastic about resuming her solo career.

Her live solo performances possess the same musicality and strength as Clannad, but with an additional touch of heartwarming intimacy. They consistently provide a profound and emotionally stirring experience. Her distinctive, natural singing style and enduring music not only celebrate her lively traditional Irish background but also demonstrate her understanding of modern genres.

In October 2019, Moya was bestowed with the RTE Radio Folk Awards Lifetime Achievement, which was presented to her by President Michael D Higgins of Ireland. President Higgins remarked that Moya’s name would be permanently engraved in the annals of Irish music. This statement reflects the numerous praises she has received, particularly from Bono, who recently expressed, “I believe she possesses one of the most exceptional voices that the human ear has ever encountered.” Moya, the vocalist of Clannad, possesses a singing voice that is truly unparalleled and unlike anything you have ever experienced.

Moya received an Honorary Doctorate from Dublin City University in May 2022. During the ward ceremony, Dr. Síle Denvir from DCU’s Scoil na Gaeilge praised Moya for her natural talent in capturing the essence of music and transforming ordinary melodies into something extraordinary.
