A wonderful day of adventure in Wharfedale, tackling a classic ghyll scramble and caving trip!

The morning will start by meeting your instructor on-site in Hubberholme (near Buckden), who will kit everyone out in the kit required for Strans Gill, a brilliant scramble up a scenic limestone gorge. We will initially walk along the river for a short distance until we encounter the base of Strans Gill. From here to the top of the gorge are plentiful short climbs surrounded by beautiful limestone scenery….the climbing is great fun, on excellent holds.

Upon reaching the top of the gorge, we will be able to take in the wonderful scenery of this part of the Dales as we walk back to the cars for lunch.

After Lunch (not included), we will drive a short distance to Dow Cave near Kettlewell, a superb stream cave for more adventure in a stunning, wild cave – something the Yorkshire Dales is particularly famous for! Dow Cave has an impressively large main streamway and plenty of formations and fossils to see.
