Valley Gardens 1940’s Day In Harrogate..
June 23 @ 11:00 am - 5:00 pm
The hugely popular annual 1940s day at the Valley Gardens celebrates its 8th year. This year the event formally becomes part of Harrogate International Festivals all year programme of festivals and events.
The 1940s day is a free event perfect for those who love all things 1940s, it is a fabulous family day out with lots to see and do.
It will feature stalls selling vintage clothes, hats and uniforms. As well as wartime military vehicles, there will be representatives from the Royal Air Force and the Army and vintage cars.
We are delighted to welcome to the bandstand the Harrogate Band and the Harrogate Harmony Barbershop Chorus as well as welcome back to some old favourites, Maria Manchester and Echo 4 2, all introduced by Major Swing.
Weather permitting; there will be a thrilling low-level flypast.
Children’s activities include funfair rides and a bouncy castle. There will be food trucks, tea, cake stall and tombola, a bar, Pimms tent or bring your own picnic, sit back and enjoy the entertainment.
A Thank You from HIF.
Previously the 1940s Day has been organised by Friends of the Valley Gardens. Jane Blayney and her team did fantastic work over the last 7 years building this much loved event from an idea to raoring success. Harrogate International Festivals would like to thank and congratulate her for building such a successful 1940s Day celebration and choosing us to continue her legacy.
