Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet

In the opening lines of this play, Shakespeare declares that we will witness a dynamic and adventurous love story. However, the unexpected aspect he has prepared for us is that it is exceptionally humorous as well! The Montagues and the Capulets are engaged in a hostile conflict. However, when Montague’s son infiltrates Capulet’s party incognito and develops romantic feelings for Capulet’s daughter, a series of events is triggered, ultimately leading to a catastrophic outcome.

Illyria’s most recent performance of this exceptional play took place a decade ago. The production was highly acclaimed by critics in Edinburgh, garnered 5-star reviews in Canada, and was nominated for the prestigious Best of Fringe award in Vancouver.
