Join Yorkshire Arboretum Collection, Science and Education Manager, Jonathan Burton, as he takes you into the heart of Ray Wood, 10:30am – 12pm Wednesday 24th April and Thursday 16th May. This remarkable section of woodland has changed significantly throughout Castle Howard’s history. Here’s your chance to find out how.
Jonathan will take you on a tour of the wood and begin to explain how this amazing collection of rare species found their way into a country estate in North Yorkshire. Learn of the wood’s lost waterways, statues, carvings and serpentine paths and how it was first conceived.
A £5 ticket will be required for this tour with all proceeds going to the Ray Wood Restoration managed by the Yorkshire Arboretum Trust.
